Tianjin Binhai Lake Golf Club is located in the Binhai Lake eco-tourism resort area and is a masterpiece of design by the world renowned golf course architect, Pete Dye. There are two 18 hole world class championship courses, each displaying a different yet very interesting character.
The “North Dye Course” at Binhai Lake follows the original links style with deep and large pot bunkers and with most faced with traditional wooden sleepers. These, the long teeing areas and other aspects characterize the famous Dyle style of course design.
The North Dye course is 7667 yards long (about 7007 metres) and is a par 72. Its characteristic links style fairways are set against a backdrop of some of the most beautiful villas in Tianjin Binhai Lake ecological zone.
The par 5 sixth hole is 593 yards (542 m). The seventh is a short par 4 of 374 yards (about 341 m) and is one of the holes which displays very clearly the Pete Dye style of facing bunkers with traditional wooden sleepers. The hole dog-legs to the right, challenging professional players to take the risk of hitting directly to the green. The 17th holes is a par 4 of 469 yards (about 428 metres), has double fairways and a green surrounded by pot bunkers.
The way the course has been constructed by the lake, with the gently undulating fairways and other subtle changes in terrain, gives the impression that it is completely natural. Looking around, one can see the tremendous variety in the landscape, from magnificent fairways to the vast expanses of water which not only present a great test of golf but also greatly add to the enjoyment of playing here. And, of course, the ever present wind creates yet more interesting challenge.
The clubhouse covers 3700 square metres and provides world-class facilities, including Media Centre, Player’s Lounge, Locker Rooms, Physiotherapy Area and Staff & Officials Catering during the tournament weeks. The decoration is luxurious and elegant with most furniture constructed in wood so as to bring the best in enjoyment to all players and VIP.
First-class Practice Facilities, including Driving Range with Bent grass Tee, Putting Green, Chipping & Bunker Areas are located only 5 minutes from the clubhouse and with a Shuttle Service operating between the Clubhouse and Practice Area.
